Passion fruit is native to Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay. The fruit itself is named after its flower, which is one out of one hundred species of the flower. This fruit is classified as a berry and is sweet-sour, seedy, and highly aromatic. It comes in varieties from purple passion fruit to yellow and golden. It thrives in tropical environments and requires well-drained soil.

Commercially, Passion Fruit is grown largely in the Nilgiri hills, and in the northeastern areas of Manipur, Mizoran, and Meghalaya in India. This fruit comes with loads of health benefits that make it one of the best and nutritional fruits to eat.
